Kent Culuko hit the game-winning shot as James Madison beat Old Dominion 77-76 in the 1994 CAA tourney championship game. JMU trailed by as much as 19 points with 13 minutes remaining. Culuko still stands as the school's career record-holder for threes made and attempted, and that still stands as JMU's only NCAA tournament appearance since 1983.

University of the Sciences women's basketball player Brianne Traub was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Week for her performance during the week ending December 11, 2011.
In earning CACC rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season, Traub (Eastern Christian High School/Wayne, N.J.) scored 45 points in the Devils two games last week. The Devils recorded a 1-1 record for the week.
Traub recorded a career high 27 points on Saturday as the Devils defeated Post University 79-65. She connected on eight of 14 shots from the field and made 10 of 12 from the free throw line. In addition, Brianne grabbed seven rebounds and had a career high four steals.
The freshman guard opened the week with an 18-point effort in the Devils 64-62 loss to Goldey-Beacom College. Eleven of Traub's points came from the free throw line.
For the week, Traub averaged 22.5 points per game, while shooting 84.0% from the free throw line where she earned 21 points. Brianne recorded 2.5 steals, 6.5 rebounds per game and a 1.3 assist to turnover ratio.
The former Eastern Christian High School and two-time North Jersey Girls Basketball Player of the Year is in her first season of play for the University of the Sciences. Traub is a pharmacy major in the institution's Doctor of Pharmacy program.
