    Kent Culuko Bio

IYB Basketball President Kent Culuko has over 20 years of Division I, professional playing and training experience to draw from to develop his basketball training methodologies. His camps, personal training and leagues are infused with the many years of elite training he received by some of the top coaches, including: John Calipari (NJ Nets), Don Casey (NJ Nets), Johnny Davis (Orlando Magic), Charles “Lefty” Driesell (JMU), Andy Enfield (Boston Celtics), Tim Grgurich (Phoenix Suns), Bob Hill (NBA Coach), Eddie Jordan (Washington Wizards) and Mike O’Koren (Washington Wizards).

Kent's career began at Mahwah high school where his HS coach John Carty was an instrumental part of his basketball success. He was a 4 year starter and had a storied career which he ended as the 2nd leading scorer in NJ state history with 2780 points. After receiving over 100 Division I scholarship offers, he decided on James Madison University (JMU), where he played for legendary college coach Lefty Driesell. Again a 4 year starter, Kent made his mark on the record books, becoming one of only 50 players in Division I history to hit 300 three point field goals, ending with a total of 320 and 1701 total career points.

Upon graduating from JMU, Kent’s professional career afforded him the opportunity to learn from some of the top coaches both in the United States and overseas. In the US, he tried out for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and signed a non-guaranteed contract with the NJ Nets. Overseas, Kent played professionally in Argentina, Finland, Bulgaria, and South Africa. In Germany, Kent played in the German Professional League, where he led the league in scoring with 24 points per game, going up against the likes of Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks.
